There are more and more people out there who follow up on LinkedIn, which is a good thing.
What’s not a good thing is what we consider to be the ‘lazy way’ of following up – that is, connecting and then immediately sending out a sales message to follow up.
Remember, LinkedIn is like a huge networking event and while people do go up to others and immediately try to sell, that will turn off your recipient quicker than they can say, “erm, I’m just going to get a cup of coffee”.
Of course you can tell people, but try to show some interest in that person as well and build a relationship with them. The more you do this, the more success you’ll have with getting conversations going on LinkedIn.
