What Happens At A Kick-Off Meeting

The first stage of our process when a new client comes on board is a kick-off meeting. 

I think most lead gen companies do this – we often hear from our clients that they’ve spent a long time educating their lead gen company on their products and services only to have the campaign fail only weeks later.

But, the way we do kick-off meetings is different. 

Firstly, we don’t assume this is the last time we’ll be learning about you; lead gen is an ongoing process and we need to be constantly learning and evolving. The kick-off meeting is only the first step.

We send the briefing doc over to you  in advance of the meeting and ask you  to complete as much of it as you can. If you don’t have time, it’s not a problem; we just do that in the meeting.

And then is the aim of the kick-off meeting is two-fold. To start understanding your business but also to make sure everyone (you and us) is on the same page, knows and understands the process and know and understands what happens next.

I’m a firm believer in that there should be no surprises at any part of the process. You should understand what we’re doing for you and then what we’ve told you should be the same at all stages. 

The kick-off meeting takes between an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how much everyone is talking and after that, that’s when the exciting stuff begins. But more on that next week.
