Running a small buisness is hard work, especially in your first few years. Let’s face it, there is loads of information out there when you’re starting up your business, but when you’re up and running, where has everybody gone?
Your friends and relatives want to hear about the great success you’re making of your business and yet in the first few years, sometimes it’s just the opposite. I know…I’ve been there. There were times especially in my first year, where I thought that I couldn’t make it and I really had to fight to keep on going.
Working with small business owners taught me something – I was not alone. Most of the small business owners that I know have experienced the things I went through in my first few years of running a business. Let me give you a few examples:
- Finding it hard work and time-consuming to get customers on board
- Having no time to do anything
- Feeling demotivated and frustrated that it’s not getting off the ground quick enough
- Spending loads of money on marketing, but not getting any real results
As my business developed and grew I learnt how to deal with these things – how to successfully market and promote my business without spending a fortune; how to get my passion back for running my business; and how to manage my time so that I could fit more in the day and be much more effective. Now, there are six of us in the team and the business is going from strength to strength.
I wanted to pass all my knowledge and experience back to other business owners who are in their first few years of running a business and feeling the pressure. So, I’ve written a series of workbooks that you can download as and when you need them.
