I’ve had a couple of people recently asking me whether telemarketing still works as a marketing technique; after all, marketing is constantly changing and evolving and maybe there are better methods you could be using now.
With telemarketing, we are firm believers at Exceptional Thinking that it still does work as a marketing method; however, if you use telemarketing on its own with contacts that have never heard of you before, your results will typically be 1-2%. In other words, for every 100 calls you make, you will book one or two meetings.
For the last few years, we’ve been combining telemarketing with two other marketing methods; LinkedIn marketing and email marketing, and our results have been very different.
Because we warm the contact up, build a relationship with them and use ‘permission-based marketing’, we’re much more likely to book a qualified meeting with them.
For most of our clients, we consistently book four to six qualified meetings each and every month for them – proof that combining marketing methods is ultimately much more successful.
